About

We listen, act, and transform

Website: https://talkforwardcounseling.com/ My Background I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have been licensed since June 2000. I am also involved in training new therapists and I am Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) sine 2011. I earned my Bachelor of Science in 1992 from Florida Tech, and my Master of Arts in Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in 1996. I started as a case manager before becoming a therapist, working in community behavioral health, where I practiced as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of other therapists, case managers, nurses, and doctors. It was in this environment where I learned to treat the large variety of issues brought to our clinic by a diverse population. I have used that expertise in both my personal practice and to develop clinical programs for clinics and treatment centers. My Approach I believe that we can better face the challenges of our lives through increased awareness and understanding of ourselves and the forces that drive us. Each of us blazes our own path to this awareness, and depending on the person, it can take only a few sessions to achieve specific goals, or it can take longer, measured in months or years. Often, what first brings us to therapy is not what we really end up working on to achieve our goals. This is journey together with the client. My primary approach is a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy informed by interpersonal theory. I use styles and techniques that match the needs of the client based on my years of practice. Who I see I see adult men and women who are struggling to cope with their external and internal challenges. I have expertise in helping with : • Depression • Anxiety • Life Transitions • Communication & Interpersonal Relationships • Stress management • Men's Issues • Career Development Specialty in Men's Issues In the 21st century, many men find they are lost, without clear direction. Even materially successful men can find something is missing from their sense of fulfillment. This is an area where I bring my own personal experience.
